Love Thy Neighbor Ministries is a Christ-centered, non-denominational organization that reaches out, through neighborly visits, to the residents of nursing homes and assisted living facilities in our community. These are our Neighbors. Our mission is to show the love of God to our Neighbors by providing loving, caring, helpful and neighborly visits. Our vision is that every resident of an adult care facility in Pima County will have a loving, Godly visitor to call on them regularly.

Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37-39)

One of our primary goals is to remind the body of Christ, the church, of the lonely and forgotten people who are living the last years of their lives in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. You don’t have to travel to some faraway land to serve the Lord: there is a mission field right here in our community.

by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken. (Proverbs 15:13b)

Since our founding in 2002 we have recruited, trained and prepared hundreds of Christians from churches throughout our community to bring God’s love to the residents in these facilities. “Love is the language spoken by the visitors from Love Thy Neighbor Ministries.,” wrote Betsy F.

There is much we as Christians can and should do to support and brighten the quality of life of our Neighbors.

We have blessed the residents, our Neighbors, through the missionary programs we have developed: Neighborly visitors; Group Bible Studies; Handmade lap blankets, walker and wheelchair pockets through our Stitches for Love program; Bereavement Support Groups; Sing along concerts with our Good Neighbor Band; and our K-9 Corps, dogs bringing their humans along to visit. We give away large print Bibles and other Christian literature and also celebrate special occasions with our neighbors by giving cakes and gifts.

All of our services and materials are provided free of charge to our neighbors.
We are a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization incorporated in Arizona.
